Decades of research show academic norms, expectations, policies, and practices undermine the success of graduate and undergraduate students, especially women and racially minoritized scholars. My grant-funded and collaborative research in this area seeks to understand how institutions, departments, disciplines, and programs can foster the uptake of more effective practice in graduate and undergraduate education.
Clearly communicating expectations for graduate students is vital at all times but even more so during a pandemic when health and safety depends upon clear guidance. |
